DIGIPLEX DESTINATIONS BRINGS 5 BROADWAY SHOWS TO ITS THEATERS AROUND THE COUNTRY

WESTFIELD, NJ (Sept. 30, 2013) – Beginning on October 10th, Digiplex Destinations (Digital Cinema Destinations Corp.) (NASDAQ CM: DCIN) in conjunction with Direct From Broadway and Specticast, announces an exciting schedule of five stage performances on the big screen, including MEMPHIS, PUTTING IT TOGETHER, JEKYLL & HYDE, SOPHISTICATED LADIES, and SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ. At Digiplex, patrons will enjoy an experience rivaling the best seat in the house with pure digital sound and images more realistic than HDTV, all without having to travel to New York’ Great White Way or London’s West End. Tickets for all presentations are available for immediate purchase at theater box offices and online at www.digiplexdest.com.

On October 10 and 13, Digiplex presents MEMPHIS. The 2010 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical delighted audiences at Broadway’s Shubert Theatre over some 1,200 performances and this Direct From Broadway® presentation was awarded a 2012 Emmy® for Outstanding Technical Direction. Set in the underground clubs of the segregated 50’s, a young white DJ named Huey Calhoun falls in love with everything he shouldn’t: rock and roll and an electrifying black singer. It’s is an original story about the cultural revolution that erupted when his vision met her voice, and the music changed forever. Bursting off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a tale of fame and forbidden love, this emotional journey is filled with laughter and roof-raising rock ‘n’ roll.

MEMPHIS features a Tony-winning score with music by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan with lyrics by Bryan and Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change),who also penned the musical's Tony-winning book.

The New York Times declared "David Bryan evokes the power- house funk of James Brown, the hot guitar riffs of Chuck Berry, the smooth harmonies of the Temptations, the silken, bouncy pop of the great girl groups of the period," and the Daily News promised that MEMPHIS will "Blast you out the door humming and happy."

On October 24 and 27, Digiplex presents PUTTING IT TOGETHER. This musical review celebrates award-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s humor, poignancy and sophistication in material taken from a number of his original musicals, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Anyone Can Whistle, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Sunday In The Park With George, Assassins, the film Dick Tracy, and Do You Hear A Waltz?

Co-starring with Carol Burnett, are two-time Tony Award® winner George Hearn (La Cage Aux Folles, Sunset Boulevard) and Bronson Pinchot (Beverly Hills Cop, Perfect Strangers). Drawing its title from a song in Sunday in the Park with George, the show came about due to many requests for an updated version of the 1976 Sondheim review, Side By Side By Sondheim.

On November 7 and 10, Digiplex presents JEKYLL & HYDE. This Broadway hit brings new life to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story of the epic battle between good and evil. David Hasselhoff made his Broadway debut in the dual title role, bringing his performing talent off the television screen (Knight Rider, Baywatch) to the musical theatre stage.

JEKYLL & HYDE is the longest-running show in the history of Broadway’s Plymouth Theatre, with more than 1500 performances over nearly four years. The show won a legion of repeat visitors, dubbed by the press as “Jekkies”, with some hardcore fans having seen the show hundreds of times. Performers as diverse as The Moody Blues, Liza Minnelli and Johnny Mathis have recorded songs from the show, including “Someone Like You”, “This Is The Moment” and “Once Upon A Dream.”

On November 21 and 24, Digiplex presents DUKE ELLINGTON’S SOPHISTICATED LADIES. Recently restored and remastered tapes of the 1981 Tony® winning SOPHISTICATED LADIES come to the big screen for the first time.  The historic first live-in-performance capture of a Broadway musical features the Duke Ellington Orchestra under the direction of Mercer Ellington and a knockout cast. The score celebrates Duke with "Take the "A" Train", "I'm Beginning to See the Light", "Hit Me With a Hot Note and Watch Me Bounce", "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)", In a Sentimental Mood", "Sophisticated Lady", "Don't Get Around Much Anymore", "Satin Doll", and "I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good", among many others.

The New York Times wrote, "...the new musical revue at the Lunt-Fontanne, is an [Duke] Ellington celebration that just won't quit until it has won over the audience with dynamic showmanship...it rides so high on affection, skill and, of course, stunning music that the lapses don't begin to spoil the fun. What's more, this is the only Broadway revue of recent vintage that operates on a truly grand scale."

On December 5 and 8, Digiplex presents SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ. SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller features the original cast performing 40 songs that provided the soundtrack to the lives of a generation of Americans. The extraordinary hits includes “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog,” “Treat Me Nice,” “Stand By Me,” “Spanish Harlem,” and “On Broadway”. The Coasters, The Drifters, Peggy Lee and Elvis Presley all had their biggest hits with Leiber/Stoller songs.

SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ received a Grammy Award® as well as seven Tony Award® nominations, including Best Musical. Entertainment Weekly raved, "Nine of the most astounding voices on Broadway in years." Time Magazine declared, "These cats can sing, both as solo stunners and as part of street corner quartets that seem to have been together for years."
